When do universities give their answers?

For the admission response, you will be informed on your personal account or by a letter sent by the universities.
The calendar of responses from universities for the DAP approach:

  • Before April 30:the university corresponding to your first choice must let you know whether or not it accepts your application. In case of refusal, she herself sends your file to the second university.
  • Before May 31 : the university corresponding to your second choice must let you know whether or not it accepts your application. In case of refusal, she herself sends your file to the third university.
  • Before June 30 : the third university must let you know its answer.

However, due to the large number of applications from international students, it may happen that the university or universities are late in sending their response.

The steps to follow in case of refusal

Receiving a rejection notification can be disheartening, but it's essential not to lose hope. In the event of a refusal on the “Etudes en France” platform, there are steps to take to better understand the situation and, potentially, correct the situation. First, carefully consider the reasons for the refusal provided by the university. This information is crucial in identifying aspects of your application that may need improvement.

If you feel that the refusal is unjustified or based on erroneous information, you usually have the option of appealing. Consult the appeal procedures specific to each university, making sure to strictly respect the deadlines set. Write a clear and concise appeal letter, highlighting the elements of your case that could justify a reassessment.

At the same time, use this period to strengthen your case. Perhaps a new letter of recommendation, additional course notes, or other relevant documents could improve your chances in a future application.

    Practical tips for candidates

Maximizing your chances of acceptance on the “Études en France” platform involves a strategic approach. First, be sure to provide complete and accurate information when registering. Precise details about your academic results, professional experiences, and cover letters are all crucial for a successful application.

Stay informed throughout the process by regularly checking your status on the platform. Be ready to respond quickly to any requests for additional information from universities.

Finally, do not hesitate to seek advice from guidance counsellors or former students who have already used the “Études en France” platform. Their experiences can provide valuable perspectives to maximize your chances of success in this exciting academic adventure.
