The process for obtaining the APS differs depending on your situation:

Your residence permit expires soon and you have not validated your UE to obtain your diploma

The student must come to the prefecture of their place of residence 15 days before the expiry of the residence permit with the following documents.

Present yourself with the letter from your institution indicating the date of your defense, the passport, the residence permit, the proof of residence of less than 3 months old.

Following this process, you will obtain an administrative document authorizing you to stay in France under student status.

You have graduated and your residence permit is about to expire

It is possible to apply for a Provisional Residence Authorization (APS) in the category “student looking for a job or starting a business”. This request requires downloading a file, completing it, and then sending it in paper format to the prefecture.
To access the file and obtain information on the return address, please consult the website of the prefecture where you live.
